When was the last time you had a good day in Creation? Enjoyed being out and about in nature?
Last September I had a hammocking adventure with my friends and had such a fab time. Getting away from it all and doing something totally different was a great reset for me.

The breeze gently blows as I glide down undulating roads, subsidence evident in this flat, flat landscape. The sunshine is warm so I open the windows and breathe…
I am here.
It’s so peaceful. The alpacas graze, the dragonflies flit around then stop to bask in the sunlight; they’re so vibrant in bright red hues. The colours of autumn rustle through the trees as I lay back in my hammock, swaying in the wind.
This is peace, this is calm. You are here, Lord.
The harvest moon rises, the wind has dropped. Ooh… the temperature plummets. Are we in for a frosty one? Lets get our blood pumping now…
We walk briskly, under wide Lincolnshire skies basking in the glow of the huge, full moon. Shadows lurk. What’s that noise? Lights of a fast approaching car blind us, then no sooner has it appeared it is gone. Leaving us to the sounds of hooting owls…
Lord, your Creation is sublime. What a way to be with you.
Hot chocolate. Snuggling down. It’s a bit chilly – are two sleeping bags, thermals, woolly hat and gloves plus chunky big socks enough?
But what a place – there’s the moon through the branches, softly rustling crisp, autumn leaves and my friend gently snoring as she hangs from the trees next door. Swaying, swinging. I drift off… zzz…
And then, AWAKE!
The sun pierces the foliage. What colours, what a scene! There’s nothing but green, brown, orange and red with a shiny blue sky beyond.
Good morning, Lord.
I swing and doze as thoughts of You whisper through my mind. Your Spirit blows as I gradually come round. It’s going to be a good day 😁
Praise you God for such experiences. May we all continue to enjoy your Creation as we navigate this thing called life. Amen xx
