How was your last year? Did you realise any of your dreams? Did you achieve what you wanted to? Or are you in need of a new year reset?
If, like me, you feel bruised and battered by 2024, it’s OK. Last year is exactly that – last year. It’s gone. Vamoosed!
While it’s good to learn from the things that have happened, that may have changed your life considerably, a new year is also a great time to realign and reaffirm what’s important. To grasp a firm hold on true hope.
And God speaks through His Creation…
Sunrise the other day was fantastic. Whatever happens, the sun always appears again. After days of grey clag over Christmas it was such a joy to experience the brightness of our nearest star once more. To feel thoroughy alive as the frost nipped at my nose.
“Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning” – Lam 3: 23 (NLT)
And as I sat under the stars that same evening, cuppa in hand, wrapped up warm, it was time to ponder. Isn’t our Creator God just awesome? He made it all…
“I am the one who made the earth and created people to live on it. With my hands I stretched out the heavens. All the stars are at my command.” – Isaiah 45: 12 (NLT)
We have the Creator of the universe on our side whatever happens and whether it feels like it or not. He will never leave us (Matt 28:20).
As we walk into 2025:
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Rom 15:13 (NLT)
Although it can be scary to hope, especially if you’ve been disappointed before, I pray you’re able to let go of any despair and discouragement, cynicism or apathy.
He cares for you.
God bless xx
P.S. Don’t underestimate the power of His Creation to refresh and renew. For more on how Creation has helped me why not check out some of my Psalms?
